The GREEN KEY Certification

The InterContinental Athénée Palace Buchares has been awarded with the Green Key Certification, the foremost recognition for environmental responsibility and sustainable practices in the tourism sector. This prestigious certificate represents a commitment by businesses that their premises adhere to the strict criteria set by the Foundation for Environmental Education.

We proudly uphold Green Key standards by implementing energy-saving systems, using water-efficient fixtures, prioritizing local, sustainable food sources, managing waste responsibly, minimizing single-use plastics, providing educational insights into sustainable living, engaging guests in our eco-friendly initiatives.

A Green Key assures guests that, by choosing to stay with us, you are helping make a difference for the environment.

Please be advised that ongoing improvement works are in progress in the hotel ground floor. We are delighted to share that our Spa, Pool and Fitness areas are undergoing a refined renewal, set to conclude by March 2025.

We appreciate your understanding and patience.
